HELLO READERS
We make our first habits and then our habits make us. The problem with change is that it requires us to adjust and change with it. Most of us do not like our routine disturbed, even if the changes are positive because often there is stress and fear of the unknown to deal with. Even positive change can cause discomfort because it requires us to do something different. We, as human beings, generally do not like this. Perhaps some of it is evolution and our need to maintain balance is the reason for our discomfort. We may be in a rut, but it may be a comfortable rut, one where we know the contours.
Resilience skills, such as connection, flexibility and problem solving, can help us deal with the daily challenges which test us. Finding meaning and purpose whilst expressing our emotions and taking care of ourselves is of paramount importance. Accepting how things are doesn’t mean that you like them, it simply means that you choose to stop fighting against things that are out of your control. Going with the flow is a state of mind in which you are so deeply immersed in that whatever you are doing, you forget about the world around you. There’s no one specific way to let go and go with the flow of the energy vibration that is needed. Whatever works for someone else may not work for you. We’re all starting at different levels of perfectionism, control, mindful awareness, and meditation, so try to be gentle with yourself as you navigate this process. The subject of mindfulness has its roots in ancient spiritual practices like Buddhism, but it has now made its way into mainstream medicine as an effective secular intervention for various health conditions or other reasons.
Train yourself how to recognise the difference between things that are in your control and those that are out of your control. It’s a great quality to fight for changes in your life, but it’s also important to know when things must be left alone. We must try to be as flexible and adaptable as possible because that which yields is not always weak, but far stronger than you can possibly imagine. If you have never changed your mind about some fundamental tenet of your belief, nor questioned the basics, nor have no wish to do so, then you are most likely living in ignorance and slightly out of touch of what is going on in around you. There are some people who prefer it that way, but this mindset also leaves them slightly vulnerable and easy prey.
The measure of someone’s intelligence is their ability to change. As your confidence grows and the more flexible you become in challenging situations, the more freedom and respect you will earn. By expanding your borders, you open up extra possibilities and resulting in you grow stronger and more empowered. To fulfil our true destiny as spiritual beings we must trust in our divine power to adapt. Either you adapt to change or be changed by it because adaptability increases our chances of survival.
Hearts that bend will always mend, but the biggest fools of all are they that cannot change their mind. Perhaps it is our imperfections that make us so perfect for one another. Slightly flawed, but magnificently beautiful.
‘In youth, it was a way I had,
To do my best to please.
And change, with every passing lad
To suit his theories.
But now I know the things I know
And do the things I do,
And if you do not like me so,
To hell, my love, with you.’
Love and light,
