Hello Readers,
Silence is the sleep that nourishes wisdom. You are at your most powerful when you are the most silent and impenetrable. People never expect silence, they expect words, motion, defence, offense, back and forth. They expect to leap into the fray impulsively and impetuously. They are ready, fists up, words hanging, leaping from their mouths, but silence, absolutely not, it stops them in their tracks. Patience and silence are powerful energies because they make you mentally and emotionally strong. Genuine wisdom is usually conspicuous through modesty and discretion. Empty vessels are the ones who make the most noise, all words, false promises and no action.
We sit silently and watch the world around us and this has taken a lifetime to learn. It seems only the ones at peace with themselves are able to sit next to one another comfortably and still feel content. The troubled, brash and impatient must always break the silence because it speaks too loudly to them. It is a waste because silence is pure and holy. It draws people together because only those who are happy with themselves, and each other, can be together without breaking the silence of the moment.
Words can be twisted into any shape. Promises can be made to lull the heart and seduce the soul. In the final analysis, words mean nothing. They are labels we give things in an effort to wrap our puny little brains around their underlying natures, when ninety nine percent of the time the totality of the reality is an entirely different beast. The wisest people are the silent ones. Examine their actions and then make your judgments. Never miss a good chance to shut up. Nothing strengthens authority or commands as much respect as silence, and is only frightening to people who are constantly talking, jabbering on and making a lot of noise.
There are times when you need to be alone, to ponder and examine your thoughts. To enjoy the peace and quiet of no interruptions upon your time, space and energy. You need the sunshine and the paving stones of the streets without companions, devoid of conversation, face to face with yourself and your soul and with only the music of your heart for company. Silence is golden, speech is silver.
‘We went down into the silent garden. Dawn is the time when nothing breathes, the hour of silence. Everything is transfixed, only the light moves
When I am silent let me rest alone,
Oh! shut the door twixt me and anxious care
For these are hours that I wish for my own
The hours of rest that mend the daily wear’.
Love and light,
