Hello Readers,
The best gift you can give this Christmas Season is your beautiful heart. You are never so lost that your Angels cannot find you. The spirit of Christmas is a sweet, internal peace that represents the power of love, kindness and charity. The Christmas spirit is simply an honest spirit of love for all humanity. It is the force that moves us to give what we can, to help as we are able, and to always be of kind comfort to all those in need.
Christmas can mean so much and many different things for so many people. And because not everyone feels the same about the Festive Season, it can be a time of either great joy or great sadness depending on each individual’s circumstances. Christmas isn’t about a date in the calendar, but a feeling in the heart. Christmas is a time of putting our differences to one side by showing kindness, compassion, empathy, understanding and friendship. It’s about engaging with a another soul, whether a dear friend, relative, loved one or just a stranger, passing the time of day because our greetings are a gesture of acknowledgment and unity. The true Christmas spirit is putting others’ happiness before our own, and by doing so, finding you’ve never known such happiness.
For centuries we have kept an appointment with Christmas. Christmas means fellowship, feasting, giving and receiving and it’s a time of great celebrations, good cheer friends and family, hearth and home. When we remember Christmas past, it is not the gifts that made it special, but fond memories of all the laughter, togetherness, the feeling of love, and the unity with other souls that made those Christmas’s so special.
Christmas is about the spirit of giving from the heart without a selfish thought of getting something back in return. It represents happiness when we see the expression of joy in people’s faces. It is forgetting self and finding time for others. It is about recognising what is important by disregarding the meaningless and appreciating what is of true importance. It is about feeling tenderness for the past, courage for the present and hope for the future. It is a deep, heartfelt, fervent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings, rich and eternal. It is wishing that every path may lead to goodwill, peace and harmony.
Over recent times our outlook has changed considerably and that our attention is now about focusing more on our nearest and dearest rather than trying to impress all and sundry with expensive gifts and unnecessary trinkets and extravagances. We are beginning to realise and appreciate that material wealth is meaningless and shallow, to the point of worthless. Just to be able to hug, kiss and hold our loved ones is now the most important thing to us all.
Spare a kind thought for the homeless, the hungry, the lonely, the isolated and the ill and desperate. Even though we have so much in our every day lives to cope with we now realise, more and more that our health really is our wealth and the importance of not taking life for granted.
Throughout this difficult and challenging year, we are now beginning to rediscover our humanity and our love of all things living. We are becoming increasingly aware of the sheer fragility of life and how quickly it can all be taken away from us. It’s important for our survival and our beautiful planet that we all pull together in our healing because that way we will stand a chance of staying alive for as long as possible. Always show gratitude for what you have and count your blessings one by one. If you look back through history, you will soon learn that we, as a human race have survived just about anything and everything that has been thrown at us, and as a result, emerged as stronger and wiser for the experience.
‘When the song of the angels is stilled, when the star in the sky is gone,
when the kings and princes are home,
when the shepherds are back with their flocks, the work of Christmas begins: to find the lost,
to heal the broken,
to feed the hungry,
to release the prisoner,
to rebuild the nations,
to bring peace among the people, to make music in the heart’.
For my beloved family, The Lulas and I, the best part of this happy season is keeping in touch with special friends like you. May your days be merry and bright and that the magic of Christmas will live inside of your hearts forever.
