Decisions

Hello Readers,

Every day of your life we are faced with opportunities.  We are faced with making decisions, regardless of whether they are tough, life changing decisions or simple choices, like what to have for dinner that day, what to wear, who to telephone first, where to take our next holiday, who to say ‘yes’ to and who to say ‘no’ to.

In any moment of when a decision has to be made, the best thing you can do is always the right thing. The worst thing you can do is nothing.  Have faith in your gut instincts when it comes to dealing with a problem that insists on occupying your every thought to the point where you toss and turn in bed because you are so worried about the outcome.  What is even worse, is feeling afraid of the reaction of another person who is likely to oppose everything you say or do because they want to be in charge. These are the sort of  people seem to think they know what is best for you and treat you as though you only have half a brain and have no idea of what to do when under pressure.  The secret of feeling good about yourself, strong and in charge is not to give the other person your power.  You have to have the courage to go forward, and that is rare because so many people waste a lot of time dithering, contemplating and asking others for their advice and putting off the moment of making a decision until another time, when all along, they know themselves exactly what the right thing is to do.  A person who stands at the fork of the road , unable to pick which pathway to take, will never get anywhere.  They will always find themselves at the beck and call of others and at the receiving end of endless criticism and jibing remarks that will gradually erode their confidence and attack their self-esteem until there virtually isn’t any left.  Sometimes we have to decide fast because there is no time to lose.  We live in a tough and dangerous world where there are sharks swimming around us everywhere looking for opportunities and are always on ‘The make’ to benefit themselves, often at your expense if you let them.  If you see a chance to be happy, you have to fight for it, you have to take it, because if you don’t, someone else will.

There are some people who will always have opinions about your decisions because they themselves are not courageous enough to take action on their own opinions, and so they enjoy nothing more than making you feel uncomfortable about the decisions you have chosen to make.  Stressful thoughts and feelings of gross discomfort are usually caused by other people and situations that you do not know how to deal with nor have the confidence to take action for fear of the repercussions.  Once you figure out a way of ‘taking the bull by the horns’ and dealing with the problem, you will feel instant relief and glad that you found the inner strength needed to help you get past such a tough hurdle.  The worst battle you will ever have to fight is between what you feel and what you know.  You cannot make any progress without making decisions.

It’s important to be master of yourself, to take full responsibility for your own decision making and not blame everyone else for things that go wrong in your life as a result of a choice that you made.  Every decision you make, makes you.  Never let other people choose who you are going to be.  One of the biggest mistakes people make is surrounding themselves with negatively minded people, those who are going nowhere and who will never take you anywhere.  People who are going everywhere will take you everywhere.  Every decision you make takes you one step closer to being wealthy or one step further away.

When people do not weed their own minds, they are apt to be overrun by nettles. You alone have to choose your path.  Only you can decide what to do because you are the only person who can determine your destiny.
