Spending time with toxic people can be destructive and incredibly debilitating. If you want to keep your relationships flourishing, you need a lot of positive interaction and this is why some relationships can be such hard work. If you surround yourself with toxic people you can be sure to pay the price for it one day. Even minimal involvement with people who are hard work and refuse to listen can have a huge impact on your personal happiness and performance at work which is why it is in your best interest to do your level best to avoid becoming embroiled in their dramas. If you notice, everything is always about them and they are always the persecuted ones. Everyone is having a go at them but they conveniently omit to tell you about how rude, disrespectful or difficult they can be when they are not getting their own way or being told what they want to hear. They avoid taking personal responsibility and become defensive when you point out the facts because this highlights their lack of judgement. They want your pity and attention but they are not that interested in dealing with their own problems.
One thing is for sure. The emotional vampires of this world will drain your life blood energy and what all toxic people have in common is that after every interaction you have with them you come away feeling emotionally fatigued and exhausted. The best thing is to avoid them and save yourself a lot of unnecessary hassle.
