Hello Readers,
No amount of guilt and feelings of guilt can change the past and no amount of worry can change the future. Guilt is toxic and reliving mistakes over and over again, punishing yourself and giving yourself much grief will not solve any problem, it will only cause further misery because all these negative feelings cause illness, despair and wretchedness. When thoughts go whirring around in your mind, day and night, night and day, when you constantly think about what someone has said and done, what you have said and done, what they have not said and done, what you could have said and done differently, you will succeed in making yourself very unhappy.
Sometimes, other people do not live up to our expectations and do things very differently to us. Some people do not have a conscience and think nothing of you worrying and suffering with feelings of remorse and regret, probably because they were the cause of them, but to them, today is just another day. They have a way of pressing the right button to make you feel as though everything is your fault, never theirs. They keep track of your so called mistakes and enjoy nothing more than pointing the finger of blame at you, never at themselves. There are bound to be times when we regret certain things, but every experience we endure is a learning curve because this is what our life is about, just that, learning. No one is perfect, we are all guilty of something, even the odd guilty pleasure.
Guilt is a useless emotion, its stops you from changing direction, it keeps you prisoner in your own head and heart and prevents you from thinking clearly and stumps your personal and spiritual growth. It stops you making good decisions, it will eventually reduce you to feelings of worthlessness and systematically destroy your confidence. Today, change how you think and everything that you see around you will also begin to change because once you look at things differently, you will begin to realise the truth.
Your mistakes do not define you, it’s how you rectify and deal with situations that will gain the respect your richly deserve, but first of all, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Until Next Week,
Love and Light,
Linda and The Lulas xxx
