For complete stillness, peace of mind and inner contentment, you need nothing, you seek nothing and you desire nothing. If you write a line of zeroes, it’s still nothing.
From the moment we are born, we begin to die. We are born with nothing and take nothing away with us at the end of our time, only our knowledge and the spiritual lessons we have learned. It’s only at the end that material gains don’t matter. We leave everything behind to decay and disintegrate, ashes to ashes, dust to dust. We leave our worldly goods for others to pick at and fight over. Let them get on with it if it makes them happy.
Opportunities come and go, but if you don’t do anything about them, so will you. Darkness does not age, nothing is always nothing. You are born naked and arrive weak and vulnerable. You came empty handed without money or possessions to start your spiritual journey through the twisting, winding roads of life. One day you will pass through the veil of eternity leaving everything behind because none of it matters any more. You had your fuss and pleasures and now everything is gone.
So many people want something for nothing. They see it as their God given entitlement. There will always be greed. More wants more and greed wants the lot. So much malice, so much envy, so much hate, so much resentment and so much selfishness. It is the way of the world. We have to be careful to avoid the dramas that other people are creating and stay focused on the adventures we are meant to live.
We accept that life is not fair. But let’s not forget that although we have little power to make life fairer for ourselves we also have an extraordinary power to make life fairer and better for others. When we use that power, the Universe listens, your heart opens and life is suddenly better because you have invited the sunlight to shine in all the darkest of places. Occasionally we might get lots of help along the way, but some days we just have to trust we will find what we need within our own mind and soul and make things happen all by ourselves. How we think and feel becomes our world. There is beauty in everything, but some do not choose to any of it. You don’t have to be like them.
When everything hurries, everywhere, nothing goes much anywhere worth going. We go through life doing the best that we can. We shed our skins and gradually, after much pain and discomfort, we become ourselves. One moment we are a caterpillar and the next day a beautiful, gorgeous butterfly with glistening wings discovering our freedom. The day we learn to fly is the day nothing of any consequence matters any more. Over time we discover who we really are, and that can sometimes come as a bit of a shock because we are not the person we were conditioned to believe as we were growing up. All the damage starts in our formative years and can take a long time to heal and rectify. We have limited time on Earth, don’t waste it in uselessness. Time can only be spent, but never bought back.
For if we’re destroyed, the knowledge is dead because everything dies with us. We’re nothing more than dust jackets for books, so many pages to a person, sitting on someone’s shelf waiting to be opened up and read, absorbed and appreciated. Perhaps through our knowledge and experience we may be able to impart some wisdom. This is part of our legacy.
The bad news is nothing lasts forever and the good news is nothing lasts forever. Some expect everything, others expect nothing,
and at the end of the day we all look at the same world just with different colours in mind.
If nothing is born, then nothing dies. If nothing is allowed to live, than nothing is created.
Love and light
