Hello Readers,
Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand, or paw, and somewhere to call your sanctuary. It’s a place where we can live in our own little world and just be ourselves. One of the most important and fundamental needs of humans and animals to have a place they can call their home. Home sweet home, Our home is our castle. Its somewhere to retreat to after a long day at work, or return to after a holiday when we have spent time away from our familiar surroundings and just crave to be inside of our own four walls and tucked away in our comfy bed knowing that we are safe and protected from the threat of outside elements. Home is a place where people share and understand each other. It’s a place to nurture loved ones and relationships do not have to be perfect, but to be happy, they do need to be honest, loving and supportive.
How often have you lain in a strange bed, probably towards the end of a holiday and finding yourself dreaming of home? No matter how many fabulous hotels you may stay at or spend time visiting friends and family, being a guest in their home, there is still nowhere quite as comforting as finding yourself in the peaceful and serene surroundings of your own home and creature comforts. The ache for home lives in us all because it’s a safe place we can go to that provides that inner peace that we all constantly crave in this busy, crazy, hectic life that we all seem to lead. Some people are extremely restless and not happy in their own skin and so travel all over the world in search of their fortune or that magical something that is missing, only to return home and find everything they have been wishing for right there waiting for them on their own doorstep.
Some people even prefer not to take holidays or avoid doing a lot of socialising because they would rather stay home, do some jobs around the house and garden and just enjoy their surroundings. They have no desire to go chasing rainbows in search of something that in their reality, simply does not exist outside of their own four walls or beyond their garden gate. When the desire to stay home is so incredibly strong, the best thing to do is to listen to your inner voice telling you to stay where you are, because home is the best place to be at that particular moment in time.
Home is a word that the homeless and uprooted persons know and appreciate most of all because all they dream about is to own their own home or just have somewhere to go to that they can call their home. Your home does not have to be filled with extravagant objects of wealth nor be somewhere that has to stand out amongst other homes in the neighbourhood as being the biggest, the brightest and the best. Home is exactly what you make it and where your heart is the happiest being. Home isn’t where you are from, its where you find the light when all grows dark.
Until Next Week,
Love and Light,
Linda and The Lulas xxx
