Hello Readers,
To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment. So many people choose to live in unhappy circumstances and yet refuse to take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of conformity and what they perceive as emotional or financial security. They would rather settle for ‘scraps off the table’ than break free and give life their best shot. Rather than aim too high in case they cannot reach their goal, they aim too low, grabbing at something they know they can reach, even though it isn’t really what they want at all. They say things like, ‘Better the devil you know’ or ‘half a loaf is better than none’.
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences and endless new horizons that promise a new sun rise each and every day. If you want to get more out of life, you must first lose your inclination to keep up with everyone else and feel as though you have got to be a people pleaser. One of the greatest regrets in life is being what others would want you to be rather than be yourself. If you are always trying to be ‘normal’, you will never know just how amazing you can be. Get yourself out of the ‘herding’ mentality and stop following or copying everyone else. It’s important that you don’t always follow the voice of others, but make your own statements and opinions. Don’t go where the path may lead, instead go where there is no path and leave a trail. This is an interesting experiment just to see who decides to follow you for a change. It’s easy to stand with a crowd and blend into the scenery, become invisible almost, no one hardly noticing you are even there. That way you may even believe that you stand less chance of upsetting someone, but do others really care how much they upset you in the process? It takes courage to stand alone. It takes even more courage to march to the beat of your own drum and do what instinctively feels right for you.
The one who follows the crowd will usually go no further, and if you insist on following the pack, you will eventually step into a lot of what they leave behind.
Until Next Week,
Love and Light,
