Hello Readers,
Depending on how you view a situation, there is often a silver lining attached to every dark cloud. Recently a lovely client visited me from ‘nether regions’, had journeyed many miles to visit me for a consultation and during our session became visibly upset. This particular gentleman is a ‘Master Builder’, well respected, a busy order book and yet almost a ‘broken man’ because of the ‘naff’ comments he had received from a couple of morons on an advertising website he was paying good money for. Its the bit where you can write testimonials etc.,
The Master Builder, The Lulas and I trotted off towards my computer and took a look at the offending remarks. Sure enough, they were there, all thee of them, but obviously written by the same person, same wording, same bad spelling mistakes and signed themselves as characters from ‘The Lord of the Rings’. The cowards didn’t even have the guts to sign their proper name and if they were that dissatisfied with the Master Builder’s work, why not say so at the time?
I hear stories like this all the time. Its nothing new and I am sure that many of you have as well. I comforted my client by asking him how much money was he spending on advertising? Did he actually get any orders from the advertising and did anyone ever tell him that they actually saw his advertisement on the ‘site’?
By now, he dramatically perked up and told me that all his work was word of mouth, recommendation, which is always the best sort anyway. When I pointed out that people who write such garbage on testimonial sites are obviously very jealous of his success and that his popularity with the public is is obviously a threat to their business, he started to see things much more clearly, which was the object of the exercise. You know, ‘The Devil always makes work for idle hands’. So anyone who finds the time to sit at a computer making up lies about a perfectly good professional who is slogging their guts day in day out in order to make a decent living, is obviously not busy themselves, otherwise they would be run ragged all day long trying to see to the demands of life themselves…wouldn’t they? They would not have time for a cold cup of coffee and a sandwich, never mind sat their sitting typing merrily away making up untruths.
There is a very happy ending to this little story. The Master Builder decided to cancel all his advertising and promptly saved himself over £1000 a year and with that money went and booked a much deserved holiday.
So, the morons who tried so hard to cause as much upset as possible failed miserably. There is another very true saying and it goes something like this. ‘ What goes around comes around’. Karma has a very interesting way of creeping up behind people who deliberately cause as much damage as possible and bites them hard where it hurts the most.
If you cant do a good turn, do not go out of your way to do a bad turn because there is always a high price to pay.
Until next week
Love and Light,
Linda and The Lulas xxx
