Hello Readers,
Curling up with a good book may not sound like a lot of fun to some people, but there are those of us who are addicted to reading know just how wonderful it feels to lose yourself and be transported to a whole brave new world filled with travel, adventure, mystery, intrigue, biographies and stories of romantic characters that stay in our imagination forever.
I have been passionate about books and reading from being a very small child and my family and close friends all share this same interest. I clearly remember spending all my pocket money at school jumble sales on books and dragging them quite a long distance home, where I would settle down for the weekend just reading away, blissfully undisturbed, sometimes all through the night with an exciting page turner!!!
Reading is such a passion with me that I am absolutely certain that no other hobby or interest will ever be able to replace it, so is the case with other avid readers and book lovers, with varying intensity. Even today I find it difficult to pass a bookshop without popping in to see what treasures I may discover. As a result of my love of books and reading, these days I write articles for several publications and also weekly Hello Readers and The Stars on my Website. Each week I have the pleasure of receiving communication from so many of you thanking me for the different articles I write for you and I cannot begin to tell you how much pleasure I get from putting pen to paper and creating something new for you all to read and enjoy.
Reading offers both pleasure and information and you are never alone with a book. Benefits will always come to the book reader whether they are consciously aware of them or not. Reading will always work its magic regardless of who you are as long as you take an interest in furthering your education and expanding your mind with stories and articles that are designed to make you think, ask questions and seek answers.
In times of crisis, nothing comes to your rescue like a good book does. For those who make reading a part of the art of living, calmness is an automatic outcome especially if you are able to lose yourself in what you are currently reading. Why not give reading a try? Buy several good books or join a local library where you can borrow books, return them and borrow some more and keep them where you can take a look every day. Whenever you are free pick them up and read a few pages. The point is to make books your lifelong companions and not just objects of pleasure. A book will give you three valuable gifts. Firstly, to have the sheer pleasure of reading, secondly, to gain knowledge and thirdly, to gain awareness.
‘Books are the quietest and most constant of friends. They are the most accessible and wisest of counsellors and the most patient of teachers.’
Until Next Week,
Love and Light,
Linda and The Lulasxxx
