Hello Readers,
This week I would like to invite you to join my family and I in celebrating ‘The Lulas’ 4th Birthday.
I can hardly believe where the past 4 years have disappeared to. As you probably remember, Hilda and Talullah came to me when they were just tiny puppies and back in those early days, rearing two pups together was tough, but oh, how rewarding.
The three of us are very tuned into one another’s energies and we are constantly together. In our case and I am sure in most pet owner cases, its not just your pet that relies on us humans for everything, its absolutely amazing just how much we rely on our pets for companionship , unconditional love and friendship. People may come and go in our lives, but our pets are always happy to see us and love us, warts and all.
We are now celebrating the Festive Season and this is a time when a lot of people think about giving someone a pet for Christmas. This is all very well, but do think long and hard before undergoing such an operation because remember… A PET IS NOT JUST FOR CHRISTMAS, ITS FOR LIFE….and a huge responsibility.
We often hear heartbreaking tales of pets being abandoned, badly treated and severely neglected. There are also the fortunate pampered pets who are loved, adored and treated like a true family member.
Before you decide to adopt a pet, please read the Ten Commandments below to help you understand your pet more easily and most importantly, if you give your beloved, treasured pet lots of love, care and patience, the rewards to you both will be phenomenal.
Ten Commandments
1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.
2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.
3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.
4. Don’t be angry with me for long and don’t lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.
5. Talk to me. Even if I don’t understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.
6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.
7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you
8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I’m not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.
9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.
10 On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can’t bear to watch. Don’t make me face this alone.
Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.
Until Next Week,
Love and Light,
Linda and The Lulas xxx
