Hello Readers,
There are joys and pleasures to be found where you would never look for them. They often come along most unexpectedly. They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world. Someone to love, something to do and something to hope for because without hope there is nothing. Feeling lost, crazy and desperate belongs to a good life as much as optimism, certainty and reason. We cannot appreciate one without the other.
Pleasure is always derived from something outside of you, whereas joy arises from within what is already in your soul. If we shift as we age toward appreciating everyday pleasures and relationships rather than towards forever achieving, having, and getting, and if we find this more fulfilling, then why do we take so long to recognise all these things? Why do we wait until it’s too late? The common view is that these lessons are hard to learn and some people never do. Living is a kind of skill and it’s mastery comes at a very high price. The calm and wisdom of old age are achieved over time and must be lived through to be understood. Without pain, how could we know joy? Pleasures tasted sparingly and with difficulty always have a higher relish and greater appeal whilst everything that is free and easy grows stale and insipid, often overlooked and taken for granted. Sometimes life will be awesome and at other times blurry, unclear and scary. Along the way in the journey of life, occasionally life will be colder than warmer and sometimes warmer than colder, but in all things, we must remember, that it is never over for a purposeful journey of life until the journey of life is over. Be it rough or smooth, good or bad, we must accomplish the task we were born to fulfil. It won’t always not be good and it can’t always be bad. It just is what it is. It is our destiny.
Life’s good when it’s lived for oneself, but it’s even greater when lived for others. The true meaning of happiness is to help others in service. If you really want to enjoy true inner peace and contentment, avoid costly pleasures and preserve your future treasures. There are many good people in this world so do not let the worst do the worst to you because you deserve the best. The pauper is vulnerable to pride, and pride is the destroyer of glory. Be where you are not where you were. Ground yourself in the knowledge that your soul is wise and will lead you towards your greatest light and finest hour. This will help you love where you are so you can be where you are. It’s where your power resides. The good things can make everything else worthless.
Time and time again we have seen that one person can make a difference, so there is no reason why that person cannot be you.
Be the reason of someone’s happiness, never just a part of it. Be a part of someone’s sadness, but never the reason for it. Extend the hand of friendship to those who need help and support during difficult times because one day that person could be you.
Love and light,
Linda and the Lulas xxx
